The trip our family took in 2017 to Scotland and the English Lake District was a bucket-list adventure (for me). We had an amazing tour guide, who had grown up in Scotland and who took us to places we (and most other tourists) had never heard of or visited. In addition, we got to see some of the English lakes that I had read about during college and where some of the earliest research on basic lake processes had occurred.
