About Me

I was born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania. I received a BS in Zoology from Penn State University and an MS in Water Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. Subsequently, I worked for the US Geological Survey for more than 42 years, studying water quality of lakes and streams across the United States. I retired in 2012 and currently spend much of my time pursuing photography. I live in Fort Collins with my wife, Betty, and our two dogs—Clancy (the stoic) and Fergus (the concerned one). I  post occasionally on Instagram @d_macdogall. The dogs post occasionally @macdogall_bros.
