SHETLAND ISLANDS, SCOTLAND (August 1, 2026) — We first visited a Shetland poney farm, then headed south to St Ninian’s Isle to see the tombolo (sandy spit) connecting it to the mainland. Finally, we continued south to Sumburgh Head (the southernmost point of the Shetland mainland) and were forunate to see a few puufins at the end of their breeding season.
