In April 2026, we took a mini-vacation to Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelly, both of which are within the Navajo Nation in northeast Arizona. We stayed at one of the lodges, did some hiking, and took a guided tour of Navajo Tribal Park. I took photos of the obligatory “two mittens and Merrick Butte” panorama, but we also saw many other interesting vistas and formations. I have included three versions of “Ear of the Wind” Arch, and one photo where there is a rabbit hiding in plain site. Agathla Peak, just south of Monument Valley, is one of many eroded volcanic plugs found in northeast Arizona and northwest New Mexico.
